Organized Care: Reese's Nursing Journey
“I am right now in, West Lafayette. Indiana. Yes. I’m here for university work!”
University Studies
“I’m doing a Purdue for nursing. I’m a junior currently. And yeah, so it’s it’s gotten a lot more extensive and application based now. Because in the medical field, it’s a lot less — how do I put it… memorization. And more applying what you learn to scenarios.”
“…there are some very difficult questions that are based on a bar exam we have here for nursing. It’s called the NCLEX. And so all of those are application based questions. They’re difficult to study. I found the Smart Notes feature paired with its ability to not only summarize, but also generate questions for you to be very helpful – because it’s able to kind of create those more difficult questions, while it’s harder … to make a question for yourself. So I found it extremely useful for studying and for note taking – kind of almost simultaneously.”
Tying theory to practice
“I was at a clinical which (for nursing school) we go to a facility. We shadow registered nurses, and we engage in patient care, but we also have … to chart and whatnot. So we have to have the patient data, and we have to have the patient software. And I found Surf to be especially useful because a lot of what we do with the patient charting, and patient data, is actually tied in with our lectures, and our notes.”
“I was able to use surf to multitask: both have the patient charting, and patient data up, while being able to use the Smart Notes that I have created to generate summaries for me in order to properly document what was going on with the patient. I found it useful for tying-in with other contexts because I had a patient that both had those parts of one of my classes, which is currently mental health, and part of another class, which is general medical surgical.”
“So I was able to draw from my other context, using the AI feature with the chatbot… I was able to ask quickly, using the surf chatbot, to search something up for me. And then it was able to find that within seconds, and I was able to directly put that into what I needed. Overall, it was just a very productive multitasking day.”
Work and play
“Contexts have been very useful. So as I said, it’s very nice to being able to compartmentalize everything especially as I have different classes. So I could have one context for my one class and one for the other. And then because they kind of intermingle it’s nice being able to use the notes feature and the interconnectivity feature to work between the two contexts and everything I keep in between them. So I have a couple for school. Such as my one class, my other class, my third class, and then I have contexts for some recreational activities.”
“I have a media and streaming context so I’m able to have my music playing in the background while I’m studying. Or a show playing or something of the sort. I also have one for gaming. I found it quite useful having all the contexts and being able to separate it out.”
Curiosity for browsers
“I think I have 15 browsers saved onto my computer. I like downloading them, I like testing them out, and then I like finding which one is the top of the heap for me… And then I started using surf, and I was like, this is probably one of the most useful browsers I have found to date …”
“Overall I like the visual appeal of it. I feel it’s very homely. It’s very clean, but also useful. It’s very streamlined. And just overall being able to sort through all the contexts all at once… I’ve always had trouble with things being cluttered, especially because I am a very fidgety person.”
